adfs and SSO browsers

Hello All - thanks for the time and effort.

I have a question in regards to ADFS and forms based authentication vs Windows Authentication and getting a pop-up for Chrome and Firefox but not in IE.

We launched ADFS in the hopes of SSO for a few applications.  However we are finding out that SSO works great in IE but not in other browsers...such as Chrome and Safari, they seem to ask for an authentication required prompt of their own.

After some investigations we found that the webconfig file can control what method to use....to move Forms to the top.

however when doing this it breaks the SSO for IE.  So what I am thinking is to put Forms Auth on top and enable Windows Auth in IIS and disable Anonymous.

thoughts?
