We are in the process of implementing ADFS 3.0 and I have query regarding the public SSL certificate requirements.
Internally our active directory domain name is xyz.com.au, however our external (and email) domain is xyz.com. We also have a number of other external subdomains in the external name (ie. a.xyz.com, b.xyz.com). To complicate slightly we also have another subset of staff with emails in a separate domain (abc.com).
Each of these external domains is registered separately within o365 to allow staff to log on, utilising there email addresses as the username.
In order to configure ADFS do I need to:
1. register each external domain name as a UPN within my internal domain?
2. purchase an SSL cert for the primary external domain (ie. fs.xyz.com), but then also include all subdomains as an SANs?
